Rogers Hometown Hockey Comes to Whistler February 9-10, 2019

Hockey mania arrives in Whistler this weekend, bringing a flurry of hockey-related activities and entertainment for the whole family. The event kicks off Saturday, February 9th at noon and culminates with a live viewing of the Leafs vs Rangers game on Sunday night.

All the festivities are happening in Whistler’s Olympic Plaza. The itinerary (sourced from Tourism Whistler website) for both days is as follows.


Daily, beginning at 12PM on Saturday and 11AM on Sunday:

The Hockey Circus Show
Come see Paz, world-renowned hockey acrobat! Paz juggles everything from pucks to flaming hockey sticks all while standing on top of a net.

Sportsnet Virtual Photo Booth & Interactive Games
Fans have the chance to get close to their favourite players through virtual technology through a virtual photo booth. In addition, hockey players of all ages will be able to show off their hockey skills and see how they match up to the NHL stars!

Scotiabank Community Hockey Rink
A family-friendly outdoor hockey space to engage hockey fans, interact with NHL alum Paul Kariya, celebrate the game and play ball hockey.

Ram Haul of Fame
Features the Ram 1500 in a hockey-themed obstacle course that will test the skills of fans of all ages.

Dr. Oetker Giuseppe Pizzeria
Fans can enjoy a complimentary slice of Giuseppe Pizzeria pizza fresh out of the oven.

Playmobil Kids Zone
Fans have the chance to face off against friends and family with the PLAYMOBIL NHL Arena and its lineup of NHL figures. In the zone, fans will also be able to enter to win a new NHL playset.

Live Local Entertainment
Live music featured throughout the weekend beginning with The Rutherford Creek Trio performing on Saturday followed by The Hairfarmers on Sunday.

NHL Alumni Visits
Autography signing opportunities with NHL alumni Kirk McLean and Paul Kariya.

Sunday, February 10th at 3PM:

The Parade of Champions
Community teams and groups will have the opportunity to march through the festival site in their jerseys, ending at the Outdoor Viewing Party.

Sunday, February 10th at 3:30PM:

LIVE Sportsnet Broadcast
Join Ron MacLean and Tara Slone LIVE on site for the broadcast as they tell the stories that celebrate the hockey history and culture that put Whistler on Canada’s hockey map, and stick around to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs taking on the New York Rangers on the big screen.
