BC’s first microbrewery, Horseshoe Bay Brewery, opened in 1982; Spinnakers on Vancouver Island was the first brewpub to open in Canada and one of the first in North America; and Granville Island Brewing grew into Vancouver’s most successful brewery in the 1990s and 2000s. BC has a historic love affair with beer, so it’s fitting that we finally have a festival to celebrate it!
What is Whistler Village Beer Festival?
Five days of beer-fuelled fun with a main tasting event spanning two days, interesting seminars, unique cask nights, food pairing dinners and of course great parties! Over 80 breweries will be showcased at this year’s festival, which means there are over 200 beers to be sampled by attendees. Now in its 2nd year, Whistler Village Beer Festival is shaping up to be Canada’s best beer event.
Is there anything else to do other than drink beer?
Great question, and the answer is yes. Whistler Village Beer Festival has a little saying that “beauty is in the eye of the beer holder”. The festival isn’t just about drinking beer until you explode, it’s a celebration of culture, friendship, and tradition. Here’s our pick of the best festival events:
